How Often Should You Service Your Jet Ski?

It's one of the most common questions we get from Central Coast riders: how often does a jet ski actually need servicing? Here's the straightforward answer.

Once a year, or every 50 hours

As a general rule, a jet ski should have a full service once a year or every 50 hours of use, whichever comes first. If you ride hard or clock up a lot of hours over summer, lean towards the hours figure rather than the calendar.

Always flush after saltwater

Beyond the annual service, the single best thing you can do is flush your ski with fresh water after every saltwater ride. Salt left sitting in the cooling passages is the number one cause of corrosion and expensive damage. Two minutes on the hose after each trip makes a real difference.

Watch for the warning signs

Don't wait for the service interval if something feels off. Loss of power, rough idling, hard starting or unusual noises all mean it's time to get it looked at. On a jet ski, a drop in performance is often a worn impeller or wear ring — both things we rebuild regularly.
